These are simple yet important ways, which if followed regularly proves to be very useful in controlling diabetes.
- Firstly create a positive attitude, be grateful for what you have.Build a positive support system from your family and friends around yourself.Controlling diabetes would require you to give up things that you like the most e.g. chocolates and other sweets. A positive attitude will help you soar through the difficulties that may arise during the process of handling diabetes.
- Educate yourself about the treatment you require. You should be aware of the information that will be necessary for your diabetes treatments such as learning how to test your blood glucose levels as well as administering insulin when needed.
- Create a timetable for yourself scheduling your meals and your physical activities so that you can gain better control of your time.
- Keep a journal which helps maintain a list of your activities, the food you ate, how you felt after eating certain foods, and your general overall well-being during the day. This journal can help your doctor determine whether a shift in treatment is needed at any specific time.
- There are different types of insulin’s that work with different types of schedules. Depending on your work and personal schedule, decide with your doctor what would be the best insulin regimen that will suit you
- Ask your doctor about having new lab tests completed every three or four months. This will enable your doctor to adjust your treatment, and help assist with any changes that you may need to make.
- Be aware of what is happening with your body. Strive to improve both your nutrition and your physical fitness levels. Following a first-class nutritional diet plan is a great way of preventing diabetes along with becoming a physically fit and vibrant human being.
