The older people are badly affected by Diabetes. They suffer the most. They not only have to cope up with the effects of the disease upon the body systems, but also have to shoulder the financial responsibility.

Diabetes is considered to be a life - threatening disease among the older people in the present century. Along with the problems of age, they also have to cope up with the effects of Diabetes on this aging process, be it cardiovascular problems or Parkinson’s disease. Diabetes is responsible for high mortality rate among the older people, particularly those at 65 years and above. A study published by the online edition of Annals of Epidemiology indicates that the death rate was higher among 65 years olds suffering from Diabetes, as compared to those who were not suffering from it.
