What is Homeopathy?
It is a branch of medicine explained to the world in details by the German Physician Samuel Hahnemann in 1796.The patient is treated with heavily diluted preparations which cause effects similar to the symptoms presented in the body and trigger the body’s healing mechanism to initiate the appropriate healing action.
Philosophy of Homeopathy:
Samuel Hahnemann believed in the concept of Life force. The Life force is the vital force which preserves the life in the being. It is close to the concept of the spirit. All diseases originate when this Life force is threatened either by internal and external factors of the body.
Principles of Homeopathy:
There are three principles on which the discipline of Homeopathy is based. They are:
Law of Similars:
Hahnemann found that a treatment given to a healthy individual produced symptoms similar to the symptoms of the diseased. In this way he concluded that, a drug or medicine given to a patient produces an artificial disturbance in his body. This artificial disturbance powers the vital force to fight with the symptoms of the disease similar to the symptoms of the artificial disturbance.
Law of Single Remedy:
Hahnemann directed his followers to use single medicine for a particular disease made up of single substance.
Law of Minimal dose:
According to this principle the dose of the medicine given to a patient should be as less prescribed as possible to reduce the side effects of the medicine.
Homeopathy and Diabetes:
• Homeopathy claims to be more effective in managing Type 2 diabetes, than curing it.
• It effectively reduces the risks associated with the disease to bare minimum.
• There is no answer to insulin in Homeopathy. So type 2 diabetic patients should continue taking insulin .
• Homeopathic treatment along with it can be the best mechanism to fight the disease.
• Strict restrictions in diet and regular exercising , especially jogging or walking, are a must in diabetes management.
