Okra or Ladies Finger as it is commonly called is well known for its medicinal benefits.Recently it is discovered that this vegetable can crab diabetes too.This article tries to gain further insight in to the findings.

The Procedure to In-take the Okras:
- Take two medium sized pieces of fresh raw Ladies Fingers.
- Wash them in cold water and swipe them nicely.
- Cut the two ends of the Okras.Slit them in to two halves.
- Allow them to soak overnight in a glass of water.
- The secretions are released by the Ladies Fingers and they get dissolved in the water whole night.
- In the morning,remove the Okra pieces and drink the water.
The Supposed Crabbing Mechanism of the Ladies Fingers:
- It is found that sugar level is reduced considerably by 2 weeks of regular intake of Okra secretions in water.
- Ladies Fingers contains Mucilage and superior fiber along with other nutrients.
- They are supposed to stabilize the blood sugar level initially.
- It happens because these nutrients decrease the rate of absorption of sugar in the intestine.
- Vitamin B is also found in Okra in abundance.
- It can readily get dissolved in water and protect the nerves from getting damaged by diabetes.
- There are no research studies to support these reasoning,however.
Other Benefits of Ladies Fingers are:
- It is helpful in treating constipation.
- It filters the liver and protects the urinary tract from infections.
- It is also helpful in weight loss.
- The nutrients present in Okra are Carbohydrates,Proteins,Vitamin A,Vitamin C, Folic Acid,Calcium,Potassium,Iron,Magnesium,Low Calories and high Dietary Fibers.
