Wear woolen or cotton socks for protecting your feet. Try not to wear elastic hosiery or socks. Examine your feet everyday for any problems. These are done to avoid diabetic foot. Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes that can protect your feet properly.
Do not keep any objects in the floor as there are chances for you to trip over and fall. The pathways in your house must have properly fixed lights, especially for the nights.
Cut short your nails with a clipper. Cut your nails carefully and if you have vision problems, then ask your family member to do it for you.
Exercise regularly to improve joint and bone health as this improves the circulation. It also helps to stabilize the blood sugar levels.
Quit smoking any form of tobacco as this can improve the blood circulation. This in turn helps in the process of healing.
