Excessive thirst
Excessive thirst

This is one of leading signs of diabetes. The fact is that the increased glucose in the blood absorbs moisture from the cells, therefore causing dehydration.

Frequent urination
Frequent urination

Though you consume water due to excess thirst, the cells cannot absorb it which makes the increased glucose to pass it to the kidneys and urinary bladder.

Fatigue

Fatigue is another major signs of diabetes. As the body cannot breakdown the food, the muscle cells cannot obtain any more energy they require. Also excess thirst and frequent urination causes less sleep adding to fatigue syndrome.

Increase in appetite

In early stages of diabetes, the body secretes more and more insulin to lower the increasing blood glucose levels. This will ultimately increase the hunger.

Weight loss

There will be loss of sugar in urine due to frequent urination. The body therefore uses its fats and proteins as energy sources, thus causing loss in weight.

Blurred vision

Sight is affected at an early stage itself. Increase in blood glucose levels cause distortion in the eye lenses shape, causing permanent blindness when not diagnosed in initial stages.

Skin infections
